Product 1
Beyond Turf is a Kerala-first sports-tech platform from Emot Digital Developers Private Limited. It connects venue discovery and booking, venue operations, player activity, and structured trial and scouting workflows in one phased ecosystem. Tagline: “Play. Perform. Get Discovered.” It is a working prototype at pre-launch stage, with no paying-customer traction reported.
The ProblemGrassroots sports workflows are fragmented. Venue owners manage bookings, pricing, and cash through calls, messages, and registers. Players depend on local contacts to find availability, and their activity history is scattered. Clubs and scouts struggle to coordinate trials and compare players across inconsistent records. These are hypotheses still to be tested with real venue owners, players, and clubs.
The SolutionFour products launch in sequence:
- Beyond Turf: players discover venues, book slots, and build activity-linked profiles.
- Beyond Genie: venue owners manage calendars, pricing, and finances, with AI yield tools planned.
- Club Portal: clubs coordinate trials, rosters, check-in, and evaluations.
- Beyond Genesis: scouts manage watchlists, talent review, and auction workflows.
The principle is to prove venue value and repeat bookings before scaling camera hardware or AI.
Smart TurfSmart Turf, combining cameras, permissioned match footage, and AI insights, is a long-term R&D thesis, not a proven moat. It proceeds only if capture quality, unit economics, buyer usefulness, and data rights pass go/no-go checks.
Market and Business ModelThe beachhead is venue owners in Kerala, starting with clusters such as Kozhikode, Ernakulam, Malappuram, Kannur, Thrissur, and Thiruvananthapuram. Launch order depends on field validation, since no verified venue census exists yet. The proposed model is a 5% booking commission and an illustrative ₹29 platform fee, with subscriptions possible later. These are hypotheses, and revenue is not profit.
CompetitionA booking app alone is not defensible. Beyond Turf competes with marketplaces, venue software, informal tools like WhatsApp and registers, and specialist scouting tools. Its positioning hypothesis is to combine venue operations, player activity, and trial workflows.
Go-to-Market and RoadmapFounder-led field sales win venues first, then teams and colleges create bookings, then clubs join. The 12-month plan has four stages:
- Months 1–3, Validate: QA and 30–50 owner conversations
- Months 4–6, Activate: target 50 signed venues
- Months 7–9, Repeat: base target of 100 active venues
- Months 10–12, Prove: 100–150 active venues, one Smart Turf pilot, and a scale/no-scale decision
All targets are planning goals, not achieved traction.
