About the series

Battle of the Winds is a comic book series about the 15th century spice trade and spirit of navigation in all its vivid humour. The dominance of the Arabs in spice trade and the envy of the Portuguese and the Spanish forms the story line and the conflict. It covers the sea trade through 1440 to 1500. The story is inspired by the adventures and navigational techniques of Ahmed bin Majid, the great Arab navigator. Medieval history, mythology and archetypes are adapted to the modern world for the ease of story telling and to create interest. Anachronism and contemporary media discourse to be used to create comedy.
