V-Cut intends to develop Water-cut meter technology utilizing UV Luminance technology incorporated with Electrical Impedance. This multi-sensing technique will help in enhancing the measurement accuracy of water-cut (%) measurement. In addition, high frequency data acquisition and high speed computation using advanced processor are also foreseen. Most of the currently available water-cut meter depends on a single technology with no redundancy. This will have challenges in delivering reliable data. Over a period of time the phase dominance in the flow (oil continuous/water continuous) will change ranging from 0~100% water-cut. Not all technologies will perform in such varying condition. Therefore, incorporating two technologies is a solution to cover such fluctuating conditions as well as giving redundancy to the system. In order to improve the data dependence, a Data Validation and Reconciliation, DVR technique is introduced in the water-cut measurement. There are many unique features that V-Cut can claim like multi-sensing, high-speed computation, measurement redundancy as well as DVR technique.
