At present, the state of Kerala is highly power deficient and imports 65% of its electricity requirement from neighbouring states. To mitigate the situation, the Government of India and the State Government of Kerala are encouraging private sector participation in renewable energy generation and Mukkudam SHP is one such project. Once this Small Hydro Project is completed, we plan a solar project of 500 kW and 5 wind turbines of 200 kW each in the same project premises to make it a Hydro+Solar+Wind hybrid RE project, followed by 4 small hydro projects having capacity 3.5 MW, 6 MW, 4.5 MW and 8 MW and Independent wind and solar power projects.
We aspire to become a leading Private Renewable Energy Generating company in Kerala State by the year 2035 with a cumulative installed capacity of at least 50 MW (20 MW of Small Hydro, 15 MW each of Solar Power and Wind Power Projects) and a cumulative power generation of 100 million units per year which converts to INR 50 Crores per year.
