There is research going on in denoising and enhancing latent fingerprints. The product is envisaged as a handheld device with an IR illuminator, camera and a display. The camera captures the image and the image processing algorithms clean up the image and the machine learning models identify the perpetrator. His identity is displayed on the screen.
