uIn the field of Cardiothoracic Surgery, having a fully functional database is absolutely essential. Though there are several online data sheets available, there are none that can fully suffice the need.

The problems faced when Doctors / Researchers try to organise data is that they don’t have a tool to capture the entire gamut and variations of Cardiac surgery. With the advancement in the field of Cardiac Surgery, the available online data sheets deemed incompetant and incomplete when inducted.

Now there are advanced surgical procedures like Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery and Robotics for which the data collection forms have been updated over the years, but it would only be useful for a Cardiac Surgeon to be able to document and archive his own results. The non-existence of a database that is at par with International Standards is lacking. Such a database could be advantageous as the information can be shared internationally and there would be meaningful communication. Due to lack of data collection or capture we are unable to run effective multi centric trials and multi centric studies.
