Utility Spot Billing

The product is implemented in a hand-held computer. While connected to the computer network, it downloads consumer details, meter information. Billing plans and housekeeping details are also downloaded.

The meter reader then visit the consumer premise and take the final meter reading. The Spot-Billing program then calculates the invoice and prints the detailed invoice. Meter Reader then gives the invoice to the consumer.

At the end of the day, meter reader goes back to the office and upload the day’s work. The uploaded data is transferred to the central server and is used to update the central database.

The system is in operation for KSEB from 2014 and has billed over a billion times.
