What it does
A traveller enters origin, destination, dates and party size. BusBharat returns only the
vehicle classes that genuinely seat the group, across 21 categories from a 7 seat Innova to
a 49 seat coach, and prices each one from the published operators association rate card.
How the price is formed
The quotation engine reproduces the billing conventions of the trade: garage to garage
running kilometres, a per day base kilometre allowance, extra kilometre rate, driver bata
and multi day discount. It is pure, side effect free business logic covered by 13 automated
unit tests, with the rate card held in versioned configuration rather than in code, so a
rate revision or a new state is a configuration change and not a rewrite.
Bounded quoting
An operator may accept at the computed estimate or quote within a fixed band around it.
The band is enforced in a server side Cloud Function, not in the user interface.
Verification
Vehicle permit, fitness and insurance, and driver licence validity, are checked against
government registries before a vehicle can be offered. Matching documents clear
automatically and only anomalies reach a human reviewer. The same discipline is applied to
stays, where every property is inspected and rated before it is listed.
Services on one platform
Bus rental, whole vehicle hire including corporate and bulk contracts. Live in pilot.
Travel packages, fixed departure tours published by verified partners. Built, in testing.
Seat ticketing, per seat booking on scheduled services. Planned.
Carpool, cost share between private car owners on a route. Planned.
Stays, a curated inventory of manually verified and rated places to stay, listed alongside
the vehicle for the same trip rather than as an exhaustive hotel directory. Planned.
Model
Operators buy prepaid ride credits against a specific bus rather than paying a commission,
so the fare stays with the operator. Hosts on Stays pay to be listed on the same basis.
