India has millions of home-based food sellers, such as home bakers, tiffin operators, pickle and sweet makers, chocolatiers, and regional food specialists. Most rely on informal tools like WhatsApp, Instagram, paper notebooks, Google Forms, and manual follow-ups, which restrict their ability to build trust, manage orders, accept online payments, retain customers, and establish independent brands. Many also depend on high-commission aggregator platforms that do not showcase their brand identity.
Cakesify is a vertical SaaS platform designed for India’s home food sector. It provides sellers with a branded online storefront to create products, manage orders, accept payments, maintain customer records, and centralize distribution. Sellers can launch their storefronts quickly without technical expertise, design skills, or additional catalogue management tools.
The platform’s core feature is an AI Product Builder, supported by a Food Knowledge Graph and semantic food data. It transforms basic seller inputs - such as product name, category, photo, and details - into structured product pages. The system generates food-specific information, including descriptions, taste profiles, ingredients, allergens, freshness, dietary tags, customization options, cuisine context, occasion relevance, and category classification. This streamlines seller effort and enhances the quality, consistency, and discoverability of their catalogues.
Cakesify enables sellers to reuse product data across multiple commerce and discovery channels. The catalogue created in Cakesify serves as the source of truth and can be synced with WhatsApp Catalogue, Instagram, Facebook Shop, Google Merchant Centre, Google Shopping, and, in the future, ONDC. This allows sellers to move beyond manual posting and informal selling by converting their catalogue into structured, portable commerce data.
Cakesify offers integrated payments, order management, customer databases, WhatsApp order notifications, delivery fee configuration, pickup options, storefront SEO, seller-branded pages, and planned support for hyperlocal logistics. The long-term goal is to become the digital operating layer for India’s independent home food creators, enabling their transition from informal selling to structured, trusted, and scalable online businesses.
Cakesify operates on a subscription-led model. Sellers can start with a free product limit, and paid plans apply when they want to add more products and continue growing their store. Current pricing includes ₹699 per month or an annual subscription plan. Cakesify also charges a 3.5% transaction fee on completed orders, along with applicable payment gateway charges.
Cakesify is preparing a focused seller validation program, with the full cycle starting in June. The program will track storefront completion, product creation, AI catalogue usage, paid conversions, seller retention, and early order activity. The objective is to demonstrate that home food sellers can transition from informal selling to structured digital storefronts when provided with integrated onboarding, cataloguing, payments, and distribution tools.
Market timing is favorable due to increased UPI adoption, affordable internet, digital public infrastructure, ONDC, and the post-COVID growth of home-based food entrepreneurship. Generic website builders lack food-specific features, and aggregator marketplaces do not support independent brand building. Cakesify addresses this gap by offering storefront infrastructure, AI cataloguing, semantic food data, payments, order management, and multi-channel catalogue distribution in a single platform.
