Organic farming is a new revolution in agriculture on a global scale. A cost effective method is the usage of commercial bioinoculants which also facilitates biodiversity. However, the promising bioagents could not deliver the definite advantages in the field condition or did not reach every corners of agriculture owing to reduced shelf life, high quantity of inert material for multiplication, cost of handling and transportation. Hence our intention is the standardization of encapsulation of effective microbial strains from Kerala Agricultural University/other research institutes and thus revitalizes the prominent bioagents among the farming sector. Encapsulation technology for smart delivery of agriculturally important microorganisms developed by ICAR-Indian Institute of Spices Research, Kozhikode can be sourced for the purpose. These biocapsules will maintain high microbial population and it is an eco-friendly, low production cost technology, which aid in enhanced soil nutrient solubilization, enhanced growth and yield in crops. The capsules are easy to handle and have shelf life of 18 months and these can be stored at room temperature.
