StratoSense is a platform to verify identity and authorization of airspace. It is constructed using two layers: Tether on the controller side and CAP (Controlled Airspace Protection device) on the aircraft side. They decode and normalize flight telemetry over many protocols - including MAVLink, CRSF and SBUS - without changing the aircraft's own firmware. This means they can be retrofitted onto existing drone fleets, rather than demanding new hardware builds.
Tether additionally reads live, in-flight telemetry directly from DJI aircraft — the dominant platform by market share in the commercial drone industry — while also supporting open protocols including MAVLink, CRSF, and SBUS. This means StratoSense isn't limited to a single ecosystem: it extends real-time authorization verification across the drones that make up the overwhelming majority of the market, alongside custom and open-protocol aircraft, rather than requiring operators to standardize on one platform.
Together, Tether and CAP produce a continuously updated, tamper-resistant record of what a drone was authorized to do versus what it actually did — closing a verification gap relevant to three audiences: civil aviation regulators handling compliance oversight, security teams managing restricted or sensitive airspace (airports, borders, critical infrastructure), and BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) drone operators who need to prove their flights match their authorization.
Both Tether and CAP are already built and tested on real aircraft — this is working hardware, not a concept on paper. The current next step is structured field validation of production-intent units, ahead of a planned supervised pilot with a regulatory or operational authority. The founding team brings 3+ years of hands-on drone operations experience through a DGCA-recognized remote pilot training organization in Kerala.
