Malai is a newly developed biomaterial,  which is a vegan and sustainable alternative to animal leather, made from waste coconut water procured from coconut processing units. Malai also uses banana fibres which is another agricultural waste. We employ a bacterial process where we create a nanomaterial called bacterial cellulose from coconut water. It's this material that gives malai it's unique properties.
