Sugrah Solar pedal assisted electric tricycle aims to be the first solar powered ICAT approved pedal assisted tricycle in India. The tricycle can carry a load of 300kg. It will fall under the category of E-rickshaw's laid out by Motor vehicle Act. It incorporates many innovative features which are not there in vehicles available in the Indian market. The electric pedal assisted tricycle will have onboard solar panels that can be used to charge the traction batteries. The solar panels help the vehicle charge even when there is a shortage of charging infrastructure. The tricycle will have all wheel braking and sturdy single frame chassis unlike the common tricycles that can be found in the market. It has a unique gear system layout which will reduce the effort required for pedalling in Manual mode. The tricycle can be used as both e-rickshaw as well as a manual tricycle.  It also enables to increase the range of our vehicle compared to the vehicles with electric drivetrain only. Pedal allows to suppliment the motor in peak current situations, thus increasing the range as well as the life of the traction battery used.
