Augur Forge Motor Condition Monitoring IoT Kit is an industrial monitoring product under development for MSME factories. It aims to help maintenance teams identify developing motor problems, prioritise inspections and plan interventions. The product addresses gaps between periodic inspections by providing recorded condition information, with the objective of reducing unplanned downtime and avoidable maintenance costs.

The development architecture combines retrofit vibration sensors, three phase current sensing, embedded processing and a shared gateway. Electrical measurements provide operating context for interpreting vibration changes. Local analytics are intended to reduce dependence on continuous internet connectivity, while a browser-based dashboard will support condition trends, historical analysis and maintenance review across motors and sites.

Our differentiation centres on combining mechanical and electrical observations with evidence linked inspection guidance. The intended workflow is to establish a motor’s operating baseline, identify significant condition changes, retain the relevant measurements, recommend inspection and record maintenance findings. Modular sensing nodes and shared gateways are designed to allow factories to begin with selected critical motors and expand after evaluating the results.

Our six-member team has developed custom PCB designs, fabricated prototype boards, embedded firmware, a physical enclosure prototype and an on device machine learning proof of concept. Current condition monitoring development focuses on physics-informed and statistical analysis. Public datasets support model development experiments; controlled factory trials are the next step to establish measurement reliability, diagnostic usefulness and performance under changing operating conditions. Predictive maintenance capabilities will be developed using validated operating data and maintenance findings. Remaining useful life estimation remains a research objective.

Early commercial engagement includes an RFQ from Recity Network and submission of a four-motor monitoring pilot proposal. Separately, the team received an enquiry from ARIES for a 14 node instrument monitoring system at Devasthal. A quotation was issued under Augur Forge Private Limited. These opportunities demonstrate prospective customer interest in our sensing and monitoring capabilities. They represent enquiries and proposals, with orders and deployments yet to be confirmed. Augur Forge remains pre-revenue, holds DPIIT recognition DIPP289284 and is a member of NVIDIA Inception.

The next development milestones are sensor calibration, measurement repeatability, reliable concurrent data acquisition and processing, electrical protection, enclosure qualification and controlled industrial trials. Evaluation will cover data completeness, false alarms, inspection usefulness, operation during connectivity interruptions, installation effort and monitoring costs. Development support would help fund prototype refinement and testing, with documented test results, installation procedures and customer feedback as measurable outputs.

The planned commercial model combines per motor hardware sales with recurring monitoring subscriptions. Initial market entry will focus on direct engagement with factory owners and maintenance teams, followed by controlled pilots and expansion where results justify adoption. Reusable electronics, firmware and a common monitoring platform are intended to support growth across additional motors, factories and industrial applications. As deployments expand, the business can create opportunities in electronics assembly, embedded software, installation, data analysis and technical support.
